He stretches his own canvases with brown linen.
He is a really amazing painter.
He plays super hip music during class. Magnetic Zeros, Beach House, Neutral Milk Hotel, Department of Eagles, Miike Snow, Sonic Youth, acoustic covers of the Sex Pistols, Os Mutantes, so much stuff that is too obscure for me.
He gives us an hour break for dinner, a 30 minute grace period to arrive to class, and a 15 minute smoke break (out of a 6 hour studio).
He is from Austin, Texas.
He went to Columbia School of the Arts.
He knows all about the New York art scene.
He is in a band called the Diagonals.
